Financial literacy and Social responsibility
We believe that empowering individuals and businesses to make informed financial decisions and achieve their financial goals is the cornerstone of sustainable individual and societal prosperity. That’s why financial literacy is deeply and long-term integrated into our business model. We go beyond traditional forms of educating our clients and broader communities, taking it to an entirely new level by fostering a culture of innovation and problem-solving for the economic progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Through our "Bank in the Neighborhood" concept, we strive to be a good neighbor who recognizes the needs of local communities and responds where support is needed the most.

“Zlatno S Award for the Best Paper in Economics and Banking”
Through the unique annual award “Zlatno S for the Best Paper in Economics and Banking,” in cooperation with 8 leading public faculties of economics, we have been building bridges between academia and professional practice since 2022, across three cycles. Each year, the program attracts an average of 20 high-quality papers, and the best of them are presented in collected volumes of papers.
Introducing financial education in primary schools in partnership with ministries of education
We have initiated the introduction of financial education in primary schools at a systemic level. In cooperation with the Ministries of Education of the Una-Sana Canton, Sarajevo Canton, and the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton, the program is implemented through a network of primary schools, including the training of teachers and professional associates to transfer knowledge to students. Our employees actively participate as volunteers and lecturers in schools.

Humanitarian race for children with cancer “Zlatni krug Sparkasse”
Sparkasse Bank is a long-standing patron of the humanitarian race for children with cancer, “Zlatni krug Sparkasse,” which over the years has grown into a strong fundraising platform for collecting funds to support the work of an association that has established a unique concept of parental homes in Bosnia and Herzegovina for little heroes battling this disease.
Swimming schools for children without parental care
Sparkasse Bank is a patron of swimming schools for children without parental care. So far, we have implemented the program with children from the Bjelave Children’s Home in Sarajevo and the Home for Children without Parental Care in Tuzla, providing them with the opportunity to learn to swim, socialize, and enjoy unforgettable summer experiences. We will continue to support this program in the period ahead.
Supporting Women Entrepreneurship
Our very own Emina Muharemović, Director of the Retail and Small Business Division, was one of the inspiring speakers at the “Women in Business” event organized by Poslovne novine.
Under the motto “We Are All Shining Stars,” Emina shared her vision of success with fellow women from the business world, drawing on decades of leadership experience in banking and the principles of NLP. She spoke about key factors for professional growth, the importance of continuous learning and adapting to change, and how mindset plays a crucial role in achieving business goals.
It was an inspiring gathering that highlighted just how valuable support, mentorship, and the exchange of experiences are in strengthening the role of women in the business world.
