Support for Vulnerable Populations

Curling by Sparkasse

We are committed to creating an inclusive society where every individual, regardless of their social status, can reach their full potential. Through various programs and initiatives, Sparkasse Bank actively supports the most vulnerable communities, believing that, through joint efforts, we can build a better future for all.

As part of the Sarajevo Olympic Week, we supported a curling activity that brought together members of the Association of Families of Children and Persons with Disabilities “Give Us a Chance.”

As a bank that believes in the power of sports and inclusion, we continue to invest in initiatives that create equal opportunities for all. Together, we are building a society where every individual can explore their potential, learn, and grow through new experiences that connect us.

Energy efficient lighting of local communities

We have launched an action to support energy-efficient lighting in a number of local communities across BiH. In this action, Sparkasse Bank financed the replacement of ordinary public lighting fixtures in six local communities with LED lamps.

This initiative has received strong support from all local communities and city governments, confirming the importance of the project for improving the quality of life of citizens.

In addition to Sparkasse Bank providing material support to this project, it is important to highlight its strategic commitment to improving the communities in which the bank operates.

Digital mapping and marking of Trebević

With our support, an infrastructure project was implemented to digitally map and mark 44 kilometers of hiking and walking trails on Trebević. This initiative aims to provide accurate and reliable information about the trails available to visitors. By supporting this project, the Bank demonstrates its commitment to the sustainable development of local communities and the promotion of active tourism.

The impact of this project is not only improving the tourist offer, but also strengthening the local economy and promoting the natural beauty of the area. The Bank remains committed to supporting innovative initiatives that contribute to sustainable growth and development of the community.

A white pine sapling for each employee

With the growth of our bank, the green areas of BiH are also growing. Through the "Green Future Together" initiative, the bank planted a white pine sapling for each of its employees. In this way, we contributed to the fight against climate change, the creation of green areas, and the improvement of air quality in urban areas.

Congratulations to all winners and finalists.

Tourism Support Program

"Meet BiH" Networking Events for Austrian, Czech, and Local Tourism Professionals

We are strategically committed to supporting industries with the potential to generate sustainable development and economic independence in Bosnia and Herzegovina—tourism being one of the key sectors.

We do this through our core banking business by supporting tourism companies with specially designed credit lines and financial models, but we also go a step further. In partnership with the USAID Tourism Project and Advantage Austria, we have initiated activities that connect local and international tourism stakeholders, with the goal of encouraging business opportunities and increasing tourist inflow to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In 2023, we hosted a B2B networking event in Bosnia and Herzegovina for tourism agencies from Austria and BiH, marking the finale of a five-day tour of the country organized for ten selected Austrian agencies. In 2024, in partnership with the USAID Tourism Project, we shifted our focus to the Czech market. We organized a networking event between Czech and local tourism agencies, creating opportunities for experience sharing, stronger collaboration, and exploring the potential to attract Czech tourists to our country.

Both initiatives were designed to open up new opportunities for local tourism agencies while promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina as an attractive destination for international visitors.
